Myles Cohen is a renowned circular economy executive and ESG leader with in-depth experience in recycling, waste, sustainable packaging, public policy & gov’t advocacy. He has excelled with proven results in leading large multi-national for-profit organizations, while also serving in voluntary executive, board and officer roles in not-for-profit trade associations working on environmental policy and advocacy work on behalf of the industry he has served. He is a recent recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award in the recycling industry. He has been a sought-after keynote speaker, panelist, or moderator at multiple industry events due to his expertise and foresight regarding recycling, waste, and sustainability issues. During his last corporate role before forming Circular Ventures, LLC, Cohen served in various roles at Pratt Industries, the largest family-held 100% recycled packaging company in the world. He served on the Global CEO’s executive committee helping to lead the growth of Pratt Industries from the 45th to the 5th largest corrugated box company in the USA. During his tenure at Pratt, he has held the roles of President of Pratt Recycling, President of Supply Management, and Executive Vice President. Throughout his career in the sustainable packaging and recycling industry, he has lead organizations that have bought, sold, and traded tens of millions of tons of recovered materials to turn into new products, ultimately diverting them from ending up in landfills. In addition to his involvement at Pratt Industries, Cohen was an executive for another packaging company also steeped in a great heritage of environmental sustainability, Sonoco Products Company, where he served as President of Sonoco Recycling.
Prior to becoming involved in these circular economy industries, Cohen served in senior management roles for other high profile multi-billion dollar companies. He spent two decades at Duracell Batteries having started when the brand was in its infancy, and becoming a senior-level executive by the time Duracell was the leading premium battery brand in the world. Cohen departed Duracell after the 7th ownership change during his career there, and joined a large national commercial lender, Fleet Capital (now Bank of America Business Credit), where he worked as an executive that provided M&A financing and working capital to middle-market companies and private equity firms.
